Arnold & Itkin LLP Resolves a Wrongful Death Case for $5,900,000 Against a Southeast Texas Plant Prior to Arbitration

Kurt Arnold represented a widow and her family after her husband was tragically killed in a work place accident at a Southeast Texas Plant. The case was filed in Harris County and the case was ultimately compelled to arbitration due to an arbitration clause in the deceased's employment agreement. After several depositions and just a few weeks before arbitration, the case was successfully resolved on behalf of the family for more than twelve times the special damages in the case.

Arnold & Itkin LLP file a Negligence and Dram Shop case Against Enterprise Rental Cars and Two Local Bars

Arnold & Itkin LLP lawyers Kurt Arnold and Jeff Seely filed a wrongful death and survival action against Enterprise Leasing Company of Houston, two local bars, and a drunk driver who caused a wreck that killed a 21 year old local resident.  Enterprise negligently leased a vehicle to the drunk driver, who had a suspended license and a prior DWI conviction.  The two local bars also willfully overserved the drunk driver.  The decedent left a grieving mother, father, and brother.  The case was filed in state court in Harris County.

Houston City Council votes to approve settlement for drowing

Houston, Texas City Council voted today to OK a $245,000 legal settlement from the city for the family of a boy who drown in a ditch in northeast Houston in 2004.  The boy who was playing in flood waters fell underwater and was sucked into a drainage culvert.  The boy's family sued the city because the drainage culvert did not have bars to prevent a person from being sucked into the culvert.
